MATT ERBS

PRESIDENT

Duties:

• Responsible for strategic planning, 
• Overseas board activities (creates agendas and facilitates meetings) 
• Calendar of events, 
• Responds to emails and communicates with the softball community in regards to events, evaluations, and potential development opportunities 
• May assist in booking facilities for teams 
• Purchases needed equipment 
• The public representation of the organization (ex: attending and working with the village, working with the high school softball coach)
• Attend the Greater Dane softball meetings 
• All organizational staffing including the recruitment, hiring, placement & dismissal of umpires and coaching staff. 
• Prepares Yearly parent meeting, usually in March or April 
• Assists the Tournament Chairperson with the organization and communication of SMASH 

CHRIS ETIENNE

VICE PRESIDENT

Duties:

• Responsible for leading the directors and their committees in the activities of the organization.
• Helps to plan the monthly board meeting 
• Assists President on answering emails
• Assist OYS President with strategic planning
• Assists OYS President with yearly parent meeting
• Assist OYS President with the purchase of needed equipment
• Support and problem solve with President around OYS softball concerns 
• Oversees tournament team evaluations and team formations committee.
• Assists OYS President with communicating to the softball community regarding events, evaluations, and potential development opportunities
• Attends area softball league meetings, as needed.
• Recommends and / or purchases needed equipment.
• Responsible for booking indoor gym practice, field practice ,and game day reservations through the Oregon School District’s Facilities Scheduler - RSchoolToday system. 

LESLIE SWANSON

SECRETARY

Duties:

• Takes notes at monthly board meeting 
• Emails board a recap on what was covered at the board meeting
• Responsible for posting meeting minutes on OYS website
• Assists President on answering emails if needed 
• Assists President and Vice President on strategic planning and decision making
• May help plan the monthly board meeting 

SARA MADDEN

TREASURER

Duties:

• Responsible for payment of paid coaches
• Responsible for payment of umpires
• Responsible for ordering and scheduling the drop off of the porter potties in May, June and July at rustic and RCI   
• Assist in ordering equipment 
• Helps plan the monthly board meeting and gives financial updates to the board 

AARON LAVOY

LEAGUE COMMISSIONER

Duties:

• Responsible for league game coordination with teams and coaches. (T-ball,coach pitch & recreational), 
• Sanctioned South Central League 
• Coordinates field scheduling for practices, games, schedule changes and closed fields
• May communicate with the village on scheduling the fields and baseball 
• Works closely with the Vice President on scheduling. Chairs League Committee.    

CHRIS ETIENNE

UMPIRES

Duties:

• Coordinates umpire recruitment, umpire clinic, and youth umpire development.  
• Schedules umpires for home league games. 
• Responsible for Smash Tournament rules, umpire recruitment, and scheduling. 
• Communicates and works with treasure to coordinate payment 
• Serves on Smash Tournament Committee.

Duties:

• Responsible for player registration set-up (Tournament and Recreation), tracking, and communication
• USA softball membership & insurance registration for tournament teams
• Assist in Try-out logistics for OYS tournament teams 
• Team formation for the Rec league and coach placement

PLAYER DEVELOPMENT

Duties:

• Responsible for development of players and coaches including open gyms, practice plans, camps and skill lesson options and the health & wellness of our players. 
• Schedules winter workouts and responsible of finding volunteers 
• Co-chairs Development Committee with Varsity High School Coach. 

MICHELE VEKICH

EQUIPMENT & UNIFORM

Duties:

• Responsible for game and practice equipment, recommending new equipment purchases.  
• Communicate with coaches on equipment needs
• Hold a Pick up (May) and Drop off (Aug.) equipment day for coaches at the shed. 
• Inventory the equipment yearly 
• Distributes uniforms and other apparel to players, teams, parents. Chairs Equipment & Uniform Committee

FIELDS

Duties:

• Responsible for field conditions, maintenance, improvements, and the field crews responsible for game preparations.  
• Communicates and assists the League Director of scheduling of games
• May need to communicate with the village of Oregon and Brooklyn 
• Responsible for the upkeep of the equipment. 
• Chairs Field Maintenance Committee.

FUNDRAISING & SPONSORSHIP

Duties:

• Updates the sponsorship letter 
• Reaches out and communicates with local business for sponsorships 
• Keeps track of the sponsorships 
• Writes and sends out Thank you letters 
• Creates and works with UPS to order or yearly sponsorship poster. 

CHAD WIEGEL

MARKETING

Duties:

• Responsible for website, social media, calendars and promotion of OGFSA and its activities. 
• Chairs fundraising & sponsorship committee.

VOLUNTEERS

Duties:

• Organizes how we track families volunteer hours throughout the year.
• Emails the families reminders of their volunteer hours and opportunities.

Duties:

• Responsible for the planning and implementation of the Smash Tournament.  
• Directs a tournament committee and reports to the Board of Directors Nov-June each year.  
• Chairs Tournament Committee.  

SCOTT MIRKES

HIGH SCHOOL COACH

Duties:

• Serves as advisor to youth program.
• Works closely with development director on skill and training programs.  
• Liaison between District, high school and youth program.
